1. Backup / Support Fees
a) All backup and support fees charged are payable immediately after having been invoiced for such services.
b) All backup and support fees not paid may attract a higher fee for late payment.
c) All unpaid accounts may attract additional administration fees (account administration fees, facsimile, email, telephone costs and or disbursements) after 7 (seven) days from date of the original invoice date.
d) The onus rests therefore with the medical practitioner / medical practice manager / manager to request / ascertain beforehand the charges that are likely to be incurred, and to further ensure that such funds will be available prior to, or upon completion of the call-out.
e) All traveling that exceeds 50Km (fifty kilometers) from Fourways (Gauteng) will be levied in addition to the backup and support rate. Such traveling cost may fluctuate due to the regulated fuel cost as determined monthly by the government of South Africa.
f) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will also provide ‘remote support’ (via TeamViewer) to any medical practice for free where both backup service and support service are subscribed to. A detailed breakdown cost report of the actual time spent online will be provided to the practice/practitioner.
g) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will also provide ‘remote support’ (via TeamViewer) to any medical practice for free where such duration is less than 10 minutes. Any time exceeding 10 minutes will be billed for the full duration of time spent online at the applicable per minute support rate.
h) Additional off-site storage required above the standard 2 gigabytes will be provided at an additional R25.00 (twenty-five rand) per gigabyte.
2. Payments
a) Payments not made in accordance with items 1 (a) and 1 (b) as listed above, can be made as per our invoice / statement banking account details, alternatively, such amounts may also be
b) posted as per the invoice postal address details as duly depicted and that such outstanding amounts due may further be subject to additional administrative fees.
c) All payments made other than by EFT (internet transfer) must be accompanied by proof of bank deposit slip and faxed to the listed fax number.
d) Any medical practitioner, medical practice or their duly appointed account administrators who regularly violate our reasonable payment terms and conditions as per items (a), (b) and (c) of ‘backup and support’ may be listed with Transunion (ITC) solely at the discretion of Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT)
3. Cancellations
a) Cancellation of the backup and support service must be provided by giving 30 days written notice and is non-negotiable.
b) Any software backed up will be retained for 7 (seven) days
4. General IT Support Disclaimer
a) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will strive to provide fair, accurate and unbiased support for its clientele which may be registered on our support base list.
b) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will have the right to refuse any support required where such hardware is deemed totally inadequate, misused or in a state of disrepair and therefore not worth spending time on such poor quality hardware.
c) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will not be held responsible for any viruses that may be found or encountered and is the responsibility of the client or its nominated representative, data manager, internal IT administrator or systems personnel to ensure that proper virus protection software and procedures are in place. d) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will retain the right, where found necessary, to refuse any maintenance on such hardware / software platforms where any suspected viruses, trojans, worms or any other destructive software may be present until such time as such malicious software has been removed to the satisfaction of Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) or its nominated representatives.
e) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will at all times endeavor to safeguard any medical practice management (PMA) data that may be affected by corruption, data errors, hardware errors or similar type errors that may jeopardize any such data while on-site, unless such data was deemed damaged, unrecoverable or contained possible errors prior to such safeguarding endeavours.
f) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will however not be held responsible in anyway whatsoever for any such data loss of whatever nature or cause that has not been previously backed up and or held safe by the client and or its nominated representative, data manager, internal IT administrator or systems personnel (other than Connectivity Database Technologies).
g) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will not be held responsible in anyway whatsoever for any data loss of whatever nature or cause due to the malfunction and or failure of the operating system (OS) either due to software and or hardware failure and that has not been previously backed up by the client or its nominated representative, data manager, internal IT administrator or systems personnel (other than Connectivity Database Technologies).
h) While data loss is always a possibility and therefore a business risk, the onus lies therefore with the company, client or its nominated representative, data manager, internal/external IT administrator or IT systems personnel (other than Connectivity Database Technologies) to ensure that regular backups of the entire server, workstation, computer (including the (OS) operating system) are made regularly and that such backup data is readable prior to the storage or safekeeping of such backup data.
i) Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT) will therefore at all times assume and accept that a backup of any or all important data will have been made prior to any work being performed as may be requested where such data is not backed up with Connectivity Database Technologies (CDT).
j) Any re-installation of any medical practice management (PMA) software performed will be billed at the going re-installation rate.
k) Connectivity Database Technologies has the sole right to choose to waive any cost that may be applicable for any and all charges related to any IT work performed, traveling cost and call out charges related.
Connectivity Database Technologies reserves all rights to amend any such terms and conditions as may be necessary without prior notification. (Updated May 2019.)
